The Texas League of Conservation Voters Educational Fund works independently and in strategic partnership with civic organizations to register voters in Texas in areas with low voter registration numbers.
In 2014, the TLCV-EF partnered with civic organizations in Houston to register thousands of new voters in part of Harris County with voter engagement. In Harris County alone, there are 600,000 unregistered adult citizens out of the approximately 2.3 million who are eligible to vote. Houston also has the nation’s most polluted air and its largest petrochemical complex.
In 2012, TLCV-EF worked with civic organizations in Dallas County to register and turn out voters in areas of the county with low voter participation and high levels of pollution.
