Some Hope For Cleaner Energy, Air in Texas

Posted on in Press Releases

It’s time to move away from dirty coal-fired generating power plants in favor of cleaner, domestic energy sources.

In Austin this year, there’s increasing talk amongst state officials and advocacy groups that Texas may be considering policy changes that could put Texas on the path to transition away from our state’s old, dirty coal plants toward cleaner, greener Texas energy sources.

TLCV-EF is unwavering in our commitment to cleaner air and to getting off of our dirty coal plant dependency as a power generation source. Dirty coal negatively impacts public health.  One possible way forward is with a focus on Texas natural gas for power generation, instead of dirty coal. We would not only get a cleaner energy source, but also the state will benefit from increased revenue from natural gas severance taxes instead of importing coal from other states.
